Switch your accounts to West Community. We make it easy!

1. Print and complete a new member packet. 
2. Complete the Checking Account Closure Form to electronically transfer remaining funds from other financial institutions to West Community. Be sure all your checks and automatic payments have cleared before doing this.
3. Complete forms for all automatic payments and direct deposits to ensure funds are directed to your new account. See the checklist below for a listing of possible accounts.
4. Visit our office in Brentwood or O'Fallon with the completed forms and a $25 deposit. You may also mail them.

Checklist
1. Checking Account Closure Form 
Complete and send this form to your previous financial institution to notify them that you are closing your account.
2. Direct Deposit Change Form 
You will need to send this form to any company that directly deposits money into your checking account. This will notify them that you have changed accounts, ensuring uninterrupted service. This may include:
    >
Payroll
    > Government deposits
    > Retirement accounts
    > Investments
    > Court-ordered deposits such as child support or alimony
3. Automatic Payment Form 
You will need to send this form to any company that takes funds directly from your account as payment for a product or service to let them know the account number has changed. Below is a list of possible companies that you may need to contact. Don't forget about companies that take out payments using your debit card. See step 5 for information about discontinuing payment to a company.

   > Life insurance

   > Credit cards
   > Utilities
   > Cable TV
   > Telephone
   > Cellular phones
   > Internet service providers
   > Health/athletic club membership
   > Investments/annuities
   > Charitable contributions
4. Social Security
To change Social Security deposits, complete the form found at
http://www.ssa.gov/deposit/1199a.pdf. There is information on this form that West Community needs to complete. Please fill out your portion of the form and return to us. We will submit to the appropriate government office.
5. Cancelling Automatic Payments 
If you would like to discontinue payment to any company that takes funds directly from your account as payment for a product or service, please complete this form. This will notify them that you are closing your current account and do not wish to continue their services.
6. Certificates of Deposits
If you are transferring a CD, check maturity dates to avoid fees.

7. Maintenance
Periodically check your West Community checking account to ensure automatic payments are posting the correct amounts. Monitor your accounts 24-hours a day via Virtual Branch or at a free CO-OP ATM.
